How Many People Can Fit In an MSpa?
The capacity varies by model. Use the hot tub finder to determine how many people can comfortably fit in your chosen MSpa.
What is the recommended Age Limit For Children using an MSpa?
An MSpa is designed for relaxation, not play, so it’s not suitable for children under 8 years old. If children over 8 are using the spa, they should always be supervised and must be tall enough to stand comfortably with their heads above the water.
For safety, we recommend that children over 8 enjoy the MSpa for no more than 10 minutes at a time.
What Is The Difference Between the MSPA Air Jet System and Hydro Jets?
The Air Jet system creates a soothing bubbling massage using what’s called a “massage seam” — an extra air pocket that runs around the bottom edge of the spa. This part doesn’t inflate like the rest of the spa. Instead, it’s a special tube with tiny holes. When you activate the bubble function, high-pressure air is pushed through the tube and escapes through those holes, creating the relaxing bubbles. All MSpa models come with this Air Jet bubbling system.
The Hydro Jet system works a bit differently. It uses powerful jet nozzles placed around the inside of the spa. When turned on, the pump pushes a strong mix of water and air through these jets, giving you a more targeted, adjustable massage. You can even change the direction and pressure of the jets to suit your preference.
Only the MUSE series includes both Air Jet and Hydro Jet systems from the MSPA collection, but this series is unfortunately one of the options currently imported to South Africa!
Do All the MSPA Models have a Power Saving Timer Function?
All MSpa models from 2019 onwards come with a built-in Power Saving Timer.
Do the MSPAs Have Built in Seats?
All MSpa models (except TUSCANY) released in 2020 and onwards come with a cushioned floor. However loose inflatable cusions can also be purchased for extra comfort.
EXOTIC and all models of URBAN/FRAME series come with extra cushion seats included to provide great comfort during periods of long use.
Is the MSpa Comfy and Easy to Climb In-and-Out of?
The base of the MSpa is cushioned for comfort, making it great for longer, more relaxing soaks. It also features a non-slip bottom to give your feet a bit of extra grip while you’re inside.
If you have arthritis or find movement a bit tricky, we recommend adding a small but stable Step against the outside to offer extra support and to make getting in and out of the spa much easier and safer.
How Long Will My MSPA Last?
With the right care and maintenance, your MSpa can provide years of relaxation and enjoyment.
To keep it in top condition, we strongly recommend packing it away and storing it properly during the colder months when it’s not in use. This simple step can go a long way in protecting your investment and ensuring your spa stays in excellent shape season after season.
How much does an MSpa weigh when it's full (80%) of water?
The weight depends on the specific model you choose. You’ll find the exact filled weight listed on each product page.
If you’re planning to place your MSpa on a raised platform, be sure to take into account both the spa’s filled weight and the combined weight of the people using it at full capacity.
How Noisy Is The MSPA When It Is Switched On?
Filtration + Heating < 60dB
Air Bubbling Massage < 72dB
Hydro Massage < 72dB
Does The MSPA have Optional Accessories?
We offer a wide range of accessories to help you get the most out of your MSpa experience. From Heat Preservation Mats and Headrests to Ice Boxes, Snack Holders, and stylish Wicker Surrounding Units—there’s something for everyone.
Explore our MSpa Accessories and discover how easy it is to personalise your spa setup to match your lifestyle and make every soak even more enjoyable.
How Often Do I Need To Change The Water In My MSPA?
How often you need to change your MSpa water really depends on how often you use it and how well you keep up with water care. As a general guideline, we recommend changing the water at least once every 2 months.
That said, you can go a bit longer between changes if you take a few simple steps—like keeping your spa covered when not in use, regularly testing the water to maintain a good chemical balance, running the pump for enough hours each day, and making sure the filter cartridge is cleaned and replaced when needed.
A little care goes a long way in keeping your water fresh and inviting!
When Using Your MSPA Outdoors
Can I Use my MSPA During Winter?
Yes, you can absolutely use your MSpa in winter!
Since 2020, all MSpa models come with a built-in Anti-Icing System. When the water temperature drops below 1°C (33.8°F), the system automatically kicks in to warm the water up to 3°C (37.4°F), helping to prevent the water and pipes from freezing. This means you can enjoy your MSpa all year round—even on chilly days!
Just a quick heads-up: make sure not to leave your MSpa unplugged or without power when the temperature drops below 4°C (39°F), as this could cause freezing issues. Keep it powered, and you’re good to go!
Can I Leave My Spa In Direct Sunlight For Extended Periods?
We highly recommend placing your MSpa in a sheltered spot to protect it from too much direct sunlight. If your spa is set up in the sun, it’s a good idea to release a bit of air and always use the top lid when it’s not in use to help prevent damage from the elementss.
Just a heads-up—any damage caused by sun exposure isn’t covered under the warranty, so a little extra care can go a long way in keeping your MSpa looking and working its best!
What Is The Best Way To Store My MSPA (eg. during Winter)?
To store your MSpa properly, start by draining and deflating it, then give it a gentle clean using a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Rinse it thoroughly and let it dry completely. Once dry, pack it back into its original box along with all the accessories.
For best results, store everything in a dry, temperature-controlled space between 4°C and 40°C (39°F – 104°F). We also recommend popping in a desiccant to help keep moisture at bay and protect your spa while it’s packed away.
Is The Control Box Built To Withstand Being Left Out All Year Round?
Yes, your MSpa control box is waterproof! However, if you’re expecting heavy rain or extreme weather, it’s a good idea to bring both the spa and control box indoors.
While they can handle some weather, constant exposure to harsh conditions could cause damage over time. Better safe than sorry! 😊
When Setting Up Your MSPA
How Easy Is It to Set Up An MSpa?
You won’t find a hot tub easier to set up than an MSpa! With the world’s first built-in pump system, there’s no need for complicated pipe connections or pump installations—just press a single button, and you’re ready to inflate.
It’s hassle-free relaxation at its finest! For step-by-step guidance, check out your user manual or watch our how-to videos.
Do I Need To Place my MSpa On A Flat Surface?
Yes, an MSpa should always be placed on a completely flat and solid surface to ensure stability and proper function. A level foundation helps prevent unnecessary strain on the spa’s structure and ensures a comfortable and safe experience.
Avoid uneven surfaces, as they could lead to imbalance or damage over time. Taking the time to find the right spot will help you get the most out of your MSpa!
Where Is The Best Place To Set Up My MSpa?
For the best experience with your MSpa, choosing the right setup location is key!
Suitable Surface: Make sure to place your MSpa on a smooth, flat, and even surface that can fully support its weight when filled—plus the weight of the users. An uneven surface can create pressure imbalances, increasing the risk of liner damage. A solid foundation ensures durability and comfort.
Power Supply: Position your MSpa close enough to a power source so the cable (approx. 5.1m long) can reach, but far enough away to prevent water from splashing into the socket. Safety first!
Surroundings: To maximize efficiency, place your MSpa near a windbreak like a fence. This helps reduce heat loss, keeping your spa warmer for longer and lowering energy costs. Also, plan ahead for water drainage when needed to make maintenance easy and stress-free.
Do I Need A Ground Cover Under My MSpa?
Having a protective layer between your spa and any abrasive surface will definitely prolong its lifespan.
It will also serve as a thermal barrier, that reduces the amount of heat that may be lost naturally “seeping into the ground”. And therefore help the electricity use be more efficient. Mspa has a Heat Preservation Bubble Mat specifically designed for this purpose.
How Long Does It Take To Fill an MSpa With Water?
The time it takes to fill your MSpa depends on your water pressure and the specific model you have. Generally, for a 6-person MSpa, you can expect it to take around an hour to reach the minimum water line. Just sit back, relax, and get ready to enjoy your spa in no time! 😊
How Easy Is It To Drain A MSpa?
Draining your MSpa is quick and hassle-free! Just attach a hosepipe to the spa using the drain adapter, then open the stopper cap inside the spa to let most of the water flow out smoothly.
For any leftover water, simply tip the spa to remove it completely.
Or if you want an even easier solution? A Pool and Drain Pump can quickly extract the water, making the process effortless. With these simple steps, your spa will be emptied and ready for storage or maintenance in no time!
How Long Does An MSpa Take To Heat Up?
The time it takes for your MSpa to heat up depends on several factors, including the temperature of the fresh water you add, the surrounding air temperature, and the specific model you have—larger models with more water capacity will naturally take longer to warm up.
MSpa heats the water using a circulating pump at an efficient rate of approximately 1.5-2°C (3-4°F) per hour. To speed up the process and retain heat more effectively, make sure your spa is well insulated and always keep the lid on. With the right setup, you’ll be soaking in warm, relaxing water before you know it!
Is it possible to run the heat and air bubble massage system of an MSpa simultaneously?
Absolutely! Every MSpa is designed to let you enjoy both heating and the Air Bubble Massage system at the same time.
That means you can relax in warm, soothing water while enjoying a gentle, bubbly massage—all without having to choose between the two. Just sit back, unwind, and let your MSpa do the work! 😊
Do I Need To Use Chemicals In My MSpa And Why?
Yes! No matter how often or how long you plan to enjoy your MSpa, keeping the water clean and safe with the right chemicals is a must. Without proper treatment, the water can quickly become unpleasant and unhygienic.
Using spa chemicals is an easy and effective way to keep your water fresh, as they help eliminate harmful bacteria that thrive in warm water. A little maintenance goes a long way in making sure every soak is as relaxing and worry-free as possible!
What Are The Recommended Chemicals For MSpa Hot Tubs?
Chlorine OR Bromine are powerful sanitisers which is necessary to keep your hot tub clean and healthy. However, chlorine and bromine sanitizing products should never be mixed up together in your MSpa. Make sure you drain the spa and refill it with fresh water before switching chlorine to bromine, and vice versa.
We advise using Bromine (spa) tablets rather than Chlorine. Unfortunately we have not found a supplier that we can use to sell Bromine tabs ourselves. You can check with your local pool shop as they would probably either have or know where you could get. Or they would have more specialized knowledge on the amount/frequency of Chlorine to use your size MSpa (be sure to supply them with the size/capacity specs of your MSpa model).
Looking After Your MSPA
How Often Do I Need To Change The Water In My MSpa?
How often you need to change your hot tub water depends on how frequently you use it and how well you maintain the water with chemicals. To keep things fresh, we recommend changing the water at least once every two months.
Want to extend the time between water changes? Here are a few easy tips:
-
Keep your spa covered when it’s not in use to reduce contamination.
-
Test the water regularly to maintain the right chemical balance.
-
Run the pump for an adequate number of hours each day.
-
Clean the filter pump cartridge frequently and replace it when needed.
With proper care, you’ll enjoy crystal-clear water and a more relaxing spa experience!
How Easy Is A MSpa To Clean & Maintain?
Maintaining your MSpa inflatable hot tub couldn’t be easier! Each model comes with a detailed user manual packed with maintenance tips to help you keep your spa in top condition.
Plus, for extra guidance, you can watch helpful instruction videos by visiting MSPA SUPPORT.
How Much Does It Cost To Maintain & Run An MSpa Inflatable Hot Tub?
The cost of running your MSpa can vary depending on how often you use it and the electricity rates in your area. Based on customer feedback, the estimated weekly cost is around R263 – R304.
Of course, this can fluctuate depending on electricity prices and usage habits, but with proper insulation and efficient operation, you can keep costs manageable while enjoying a relaxing spa experience!
Can I Leave My MSpa Running All The Time?
If you’re using your MSpa often, it’s best to leave the heat and filter on all the time—this is the most cost-effective way to keep your spa ready to enjoy whenever you want!
If you use it less frequently, the Power Saving Timer is a great option. It lets you schedule your heating in advance so your spa is warm and ready exactly when you need it.
Important: If temperatures drop below 4°C (39°F) and you won’t be using your spa for an extended period, be sure to turn it off, drain it, and store it properly to prevent any damage.
Can I Leave The MSpa Unattended For A Long Period Of Time?
If you’re only stepping away from your spa for a few days, you can leave the power on! The smart filtration and anti-icing systems will keep things running smoothly while you’re away.
Before you go, make sure to:
-
Cover your spa with the top lid to keep it clean and protected.
-
Release a little air to prevent over-inflation from direct sunlight or high temperatures.
-
Top up the water chemicals to maintain water quality.
If you’re leaving your MSpa for more than a week, it’s best to drain and deflate it, then store it properly so it’s ready for the next use.
Does My MSpa Need Constant Power To Stay Inflated?
Once your MSpa is fully set up, it stays inflated without needing the power on all the time.
So you can relax knowing your spa will hold its shape until you’re ready to use it again! 😊
But power will again be needed for heating, bubbles and filtering.
How Long Do The MSpa Filters Last Before Needing Replacement?
It depends on your maintenance regime and water conditions. We recommend that you clean your filter after every use or at least every other day by removing and gently rinsing it with tap water.
The upgraded MSpa controller is equipped with a filter cartridge changing reminder. So you will be reminded to change the filter cartridge every 150 hours – to ensure the best quality of water in your spa.
Can I Add More Air To My Spa When It Is Already Full Of Water?
Absolutely! If your MSpa needs a little extra air, you can simply top it up just like you did during the initial setup.
Quick, easy, and hassle-free—so you can get back to enjoying your spa in no time! 😊
MSPA Safety
What Electricity Supply Do I Need To Run My MSpa?
For a safe and worry-free spa experience, always use a grounded socket with PRCD protection. Our pumps come equipped with a built-in RCD unit to add an extra layer of safety.
Make sure the socket you’re plugging into is properly grounded, positioned at least 4 meters away, and at least 1.2 meters above the ground. For the best setup, we highly recommend having a qualified electrician install a grounded outdoor waterproof socket with RCD protection—safety first!
Can I Use An Extension Lead With My MSpa?
For safety reasons, extension cables shouldn’t be used with your MSpa. But don’t worry—each MSpa pump comes with a 5.1-meter cable, which is typically long enough to reach the nearest grounded socket with RCD protection.
If you find the cable isn’t quite long enough, we recommend having a qualified electrician install a grounded outdoor socket with RCD protection to ensure safe and reliable power. Keep in mind that the socket should be at least 4 meters away and positioned at least 1.2 meters above the ground.
What Is A PRCD?
Every MSpa is equipped with a plug and a built-in PRCD (portable residual current device) with a tripping current of 10mA.
This handy safety feature is designed to automatically cut power if water ever comes into contact with the electrical supply, giving you peace of mind while you relax.
Is My MSpa And Built-In PRCD Waterproof?
Yes! Your MSpa meets the IPX5 waterproof standard, meaning it’s designed to handle splashes and light rain.
However, to keep it in top shape, it’s best not to leave it sitting in deep puddles or exposed to heavy, continuous rainfall.
Is It Safe To Use My MSpa if I Have a Health Condition or if I Am Pregnant?
Your health and safety always come first when enjoying your spa!
Who should avoid using the spa? If you have an infectious disease, it’s best to steer clear of the spa to protect yourself and others.
Who should check with a doctor first?
-
Those who are obese or have a history of heart disease, blood pressure issues, circulatory system problems, or diabetes.
-
Pregnant women—hot tubs aren’t recommended during early pregnancy. If your doctor gives you the go-ahead, keep the water temperature below 38°C (100°F) for safety.
-
Anyone taking medication—certain medicines can cause drowsiness or affect heart rate, blood pressure, or circulation, so it’s always a good idea to consult a physician.
